Softcat Experience Video

Softcat needed a video to bring their branding and offering to life

Storyboard

As with any film or animation the process starts with the script and storyboard creation. The client’s brief was quite loose as they trusted our creative process to create something engaging and imaginative. The video was compiled using created assets and a sourced soundtrack.

As the video was to be an enticing piece we had the idea to create the majority using typography and little snippets of content to add intrigue and a bit of mystery.

Film & photography direction

Using the typography elements and fast beat of the music created a really engaging and fast paced animation. In partner with brand colours, the video portrayed the brand to it’s fullest. Not having a brief was quite tricky to navigate as there was not really direction other than “we don’t want to give too much away” just like the trailer of any film. We had to decide what areas to show and what to leave to the imagination.

Bringing it to life

After choosing the music track I animated each scene to the track and timed the animations to have more impact along with the music. Ensuring that each section was as dynamic as the last. Each transition would hit on a beat allowing the eye to keep track of the messaging..

The end result is a fast paced, modern and dynamic video that keeps your attention through-out, and one very happy client as well as a very impressed MD our side. The happiness of both really makes the challenges worthwhile.
